Bollywood Music and Weddings

No Bollywood movie is complete without its customary love triangle, nail biting plot, and soppy romantic number. It seems as though no successful bollywood movie is complete without this! -we only have to look at the Yash Raj classics- Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai to name a few.

Back in the 90s (pre and post!), music from the lastest bollywood movies provided the backdrop to many weddings. Thankfully, it seems as though the trend of watching your loved ones cringefully eating their biryani with the sound of 'Pyar Kiya Tou Nibhana' (Major Saab) has evolved, to instrumental versions of age-old songs being used as background music or even replaced altogether for English music.

To remind us of those soppy and time defying songs, I've started to compile my very own list of Bollywood 'wedding video' songs. Whether it be the first dance, mendhi or entrance music that is required, I hope this list will have it!

Suraj Hua Maddham- Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (check the Partners in Rhyme remix)

Guzarish- Ghajini

Tere Liye- Prince

Falak Tak- Tashan

Bol Na Halke Halke- Jhoom Barabar Jhoom

Teri Ore Singh is King (The lounge remix is also nice)

Tera Hone Laga Hoon- Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani

Tu Jaane Na- Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani

Pee Loon- Once Upon A Time in Mumbai

Tere Mast Mast Dou Nain- Dabaang

Ishq Sufiana- The Dirty Picture (The male version is also just as nice!)

..Feel free to send in your recommendations via commenting/emailing or tweeting- and I shall update them to compile the 'ultimate' bollywood wedding music list.
